Makes for March

Has it really been two weeks since my last post?  That's just dreadful!!  Although, I must say it's been a very mixed past two weeks.

Firstly, if you read my previous post you would be aware that my Nanna G was having her 90th birthday and my mum, sister and I had all taken part in making her a lap quilt.  We celebrated with a family get together Sunday last at the nursing home.  Nanna had been really starting to slip and she managed to sleep through the whole event.  Never mind we where there for her.  Her actual birthday was on the Tuesday and she made it!  90 years, sadly though she past on the Wednesday evening.  The funeral was on Monday and it was really lovely.  We placed her quilt over the casket during the service and now mum has the pleasure of looking after it for her.  My nanna was a very crafty lady and I've learn't many things from her over the years.

So, with that these are my makes for March...
Mothers' Day...

Nanna's 90th Birthday (joint effort)...
You may remember I won this...

And turned it into these...

And my favourite...
finished last night just in the nick of time to post today.

LOVE  YOU  NANNA
RIP

Hi Lynelle - you have had a full on 2 weeks. I am so sorry about your Nana, but so pleased you all celebrated her 90th with her presence. That's special. Love what you have been making and I especially love the stitch you have used to outline the bear - that looks fantastic. Glad to see you back online - xoxoxox

I am glad your Nan got to see the quilt, and what a lovely feeling to have it there at the funeral too, I did the same for my sister and the family put it over a chair next to the casket, it sure is a nice but sad feeling :)

Lynnelle, Nana certainly taught us many things and we now have many happy memories which will see us all through the years ahead. Thank you for helping make the past few weeks easier, love Mum

Hi Lynelle, So happy you were able to celebrate your nans 90th birthday and sad that she has now passed away. Memories are great though. Your bear stitchery is so nice. I agree with Annies comment, the outline of the bear looks fantastic.

It was so lovely to meet you today, looks like when I thought I was following you before I wasn't - but I am now :)
